Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How many sessions will our school need?
Some schools run one class per session, others run two classes per session. Click on the link for a guide to session numbers.
Q. Our Preps love drawing. Can they do the cartoon workshop too?
Once Term 3 begins, I ususally introduce some simple cartooning at the end of the session, so we have about 40 minutes of story and 20 minutes of cartooning. We can work the details when the booking is made.
Q. Are your workshops suitable 2 years running?
Richard has found that coming back for a second visit in the following year works really well.
Students know what to expect and are eager to learn new ideas and techniques. The workshops build on themes from the previous year, and a new set of characters are introduced.
Q. Do you charge extra for travel and accomodation to country schools?
No.
Q. What's all this about free stuff?
Each school receives 20 free books and two limited edition prints. In addition, Richard produces around 12 large sheets of cartoons throughout the course of the day. Naturally the school gets to keep these sheets, and they make great displays around the school. Click on the link for more information about free stuff.
Q. Do you visit municipal libraries?
Richard visits municipal libraries, usually during school holidays. The cost for a library visit is $190.00, and we usually have up to 40 children in a workshop. That works out at under $5.00 per child, which is reasonable value for a holiday activity. |
